About Me
I'm Jacquie, a gluten intolerant vegan from Australia and am currently living in the USA.
I was vegetarian for 20 years until I saw a documentary called "Earthlings" which changed my life. From that moment I knew I could never justify such inhumane suffering for taste or fashion preferences.
I have been vegan now since October 2010 and it's so much easier than I ever expected. I also feel 100% better mind, body and spirit. I have much more energy and give blood regularly so I know my iron is high without supplements (higher than it was before in fact).
People often ask me if I'm offended by the smell of BBQ, the answer is no, I love it but I choose not to eat it. If we don't have compassion, then what really makes us human?Gandi said "Be the change you want to see in the world" and I believe that to be true. Can one person change the world? Maybe, maybe not but one quickly turns to many. Besides, even if you save one animal, you've definitely changed their world.
There's no such thing as a perfect person so there can't be a perfect vegan, so don't beat yourself up if you accidentally ate something that you didn't know had animal products in them -you'll know for next time (we've all been tricked on occasion!). All we can do is make daily choices based on our own personal ethics to the best of our knowledge. The most influential power we have is as consumers, so I believe the best way to protest the unethical treatment of animals is to do so through our consumer choices.
I also have a blog for vegan recipes and vegan life which is now also a page on Facebook!
I make my own vegan soap and shampoo bar at Soleil Handmade Soaps.
I am also a Independent Wellness Advocate for doTERRA Pure Essential Oils so if you have any questions or interest please visit my doTERRA page!
I hope you enjoy my website!
